Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, or simply PGT, made his mark as a general for the Army of the Confederacy during the Civil War. His legacy during the war was one of notes, as he was one of the top-ranking officers of the South througout the conflict. Beauregard led the troops that fired on Fort Sumter to start the American Civil War in 1861. He, along with General Johnston, won the First Battle of Bull Run (or Manassas as he would have called it being from the South). He also served at many other battles, including Shiloh, Charleston, and Petersburg. He was frequently critical of Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis when it came to war strategy.
